Recipe's preparation

    Easy Vanilla yogurt
  1. Place all the ingredients into the TM bowl.

    Heat 12mins / 37 degrees / sp 3.

While the the milk is heating, boil the kettle then pour 5cm of water into your Thermoserver and put the lid on to pre-warm it (you are just taking the chill off the stainless steel)

Once the 12mins is up, tip the water out of your server wipe dry and pour yogurt mixture into the Thermoserver.

TIP -  Leave your yogurt in the thermoserver undisturbed  - do not  open it for a peak as you will let the heat out & it may not set properly!  I place my Thermoserver in the microwave wrapped in a polar fleece blanket with the door closed overnight or close to 12 - 15 hours.

    Refrigerate .

TIP - Any longer than 15 hours your yogurt will become more sour in taste

Tip

Tip - Reserve 120g of your yogurt to use as the starter for your next batch and the starter can be frozen but thaw it in the fridge not the microwave or varoma or you will kill the culture.

TIP - Half recipe and set in 1 litre Thermoserver.

TIP - Great for lunchbox in reusable pouches.

This is a combination of several different yogurt recipes I have tested and you can adjust the sugar or replace the sugar depending on your taste and diet.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I love this yoghurt! Perfect each time, beautiful, creamy thick yoghurt in 12 minutes! (and a bit of waiting for it to grow). So easy to make and cheap! I leave out the vanilla paste, halve the sugar, because I don't like it too sweet, and increase the starter to 160 grams. Yum!

This is great!  I halve it as there is only one of me and leave out the sugar and the vanilla bean paste that way I can use it in curries, dips and other savoury dishes - super good and easy!

Woohoo! Finally I have been successful in making yogurt after many failed attempts with other recipes. Thank you so much - I've made this 3 times now and will continue to make it regularly. I use 20g raw sugar, trying this next batch with no sugar. Not sure if it makes any difference, but a lot of the vanilla bean seeds got stuck in tmx bowl so I swirl bowl around now towards the end as I pour into Thermoserver.

I have found this generally has to do with the starter yogurt culture. When making your first batch purchase a very good brand of "pot set" the cheaper brands seem to result in a runny yogurt. You can also add more milk powder to thicken. Dont give up tmrc_emoticons.)
