Recipe's preparation

    How to:
  1. Combine all the ingredients 20secs/ sp4.

    Cook 6mins/ 37°C/sp2

Meanwhile, boil the kettle and fill the EasiYo to the level just under the small hole on the top baffle. (See the directions provided with the unit.)
    Do not overfill the unit.
Do this just before the mixing in the TMX has finished. You need the water to go into the EasiYo as hot as possible.

Pour the yogurt into into the container provided with the EasiYo.

Place into the EasiYo container, screw on the lid and leave without disturbing for 8-12 hours.

Remove from yogurt from the thermal container and store in the fridge.

Tip

So delicious and sooo much cheaper than buying it.

You can keep re-using this yogurt (no need to keep buying the small tub each time as per the ingredients above. ) to make more yogurt.
Remember to always set aside some yogurt when you are running low so that you can make more. 👍
After a while, the yogurt may not set as thick and it may be time to buy another small tub and start again.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Suzuki Mac: it so easy isn't it? I have found that longer standing time results in a tangier yogurt. See what you think.

i was surprised how thick this was. I set it for 8 hours but will try longer just to see how it is different.

Bryvic: Absolutely! As long as it's UHT. Follow the instructions as per the recipe.

Hi Monica, just wanting to clarify two things before I give this a go. Can I use the easiyo yoghurt I am currently making as the starter? Also, with the boiling water content in the easiyo chamber - I have a very old one which the instruction is to fill to the top of the baffle - not to the hole. Do I go with my usual technique or it the plan not to have the container touch the boiling water?
    Thanks Rhonda

The best, thick yogurt ever. So worth buying the EasiYo! Will save a fortune from now on in. 😍

You could try maybe 100g of yogurt..? I find it also depends on the brand of yogurt you use as a starter. ACOM:

Yes great recipe thank you. Could be a bit thicker any tips to make this happen? I assume the nutritional value is pretty much what is listed on milk container?

Good on you Wendy! So glad you like it. And if you want to make it even easier (as if you could, right..?) Just pop in the contents of a acidophilus capsule and use it in place of the starter yogurt. Continue with the recipe as instructed (minus the yogurt). You need to do this because after a while your yogurt will lose its zing and you will need to start again. 😊👍 Wenk:
