I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Wash and dry thermomix bowl thoroughly.

  2. Add all ingredients into bowl and mix on Speed 3, 37 degrees until tempertaure of the yoghurt mixture reaches 37 degrees.

    * Tip: You'll know when it's reached 37 degrees as the temperature indicator will light up showing 37 degrees.

    * Tip: You'll need to set a time for the heating to commence. Try 2-3 minutes first and add more time if required for the mixture to reach 37 degrees. The time this takes will vary depending on the initial temperature of your mixture.

  3. Meanwhile prepare your EasiYo insulator with warm water, 34-37 degrees. Fill with water to the top of the red baffle, as per manufacturers instructions. DO NOT add boiling water (this will split your yoghurt into curds and whey 'Miss Muffet' style).

  4. Pour yoghurt mixture into EasiYo 1 litre container. You may have a little left over.

  5. Place Easiyo container into the EasiYo insulator and secure the lid. Allow the EasiYo to do it's thing for 8-12 hours, undisturbed.

  6. Once set, pop Easiyo container into fridge. It will thicken up some more once chilled. Serve when chilled.

Tip

DO NOT add boiling water to your Easiyo insulator, as per manufacturers instructions (your yoghurt will split into curds and whey 'Miss Muffet' style). Get the correct temperature for your water by using a kitchen thermometer or like I did and use the baby bath one!

Use thickened cream. This helps with setting the yoghurt.

Adjust sugar to taste. This recpe is sweet.

Keep 120grams of your yogurt aside for the next batch. Hopefully there will be many ; )

PS. I'd love to hear how it compares to the Aldi Yoghurt for you, please leave your comments below and I'll be sure to tweak the recipe should any changes be required.

Have fun!

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

I love the taste of this yoghurt, so does my teenage Son. Easy and quick to make also.

Has anyone used the thermoserver instead of easy yo? If you have how do you store the thermoserver with the yoghurt?

Hey ladies thanks for your lovely feedback. I'm so glad it's worked for you too! It's super thick hey?

I'm going to be experimenting with the vanilla taste over coming weeks, so will keep you posted. Might add some vanilla essence too.

Made this. So simple! I accidentally put 800 g milk but still turned out great, I can't wait to make it with 700g milk. Well done!

Chrissy, this is THE BEST BEST EVER yoghurt I have ever made in my TM5.  Congratulations on a triumph. Five stars all the way ☺️
