Recipe's preparation

    Chocolate Pate Slice
  1. 1. Grease and paper line a 20cm x 10cm loaf pan (ensure paper extends 5cm above the top of the pan).

    2. Chop dates 10 sec / speed 7

    3. Add nuts and coconut 3 - 5 secs (see tip) / speed 5

    4. Set date and nut mixture aside

    5. Place chocolate into mixing bowl and grate 10 sec / speed 8

    6.  Add cream cheese and melt 3 minutes / 50C / Speed 2

    7.  Add date & nut mixture back into bowl and stir 20 sec / Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"  / Speed 2

    8. Once finished, use spatula to spread evenly into loaf pan.

    9.  Refrigerate until firm enough to slice (I leave mine overnight).

    10. Unmold and cut into slices; 0.5cm - 1cm thick.

Tip

1. Adjust the time for chopping your nuts according to the nuts used.  e.g. larger nuts like macadmias may need 5 seconds, smaller nuts like pistachios should only need 3 seconds.

2. As well as using nuts of choice, you can also use your choice of mixed dried fruit

3. You can give this recipe a festive touch by adding glaced cherries

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
