Ingredients
Brownies
- 180 grams pitted dates
- 80 grams walnuts
- 130 grams almonds
- 30 grams water
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon Raw cacao/cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 50 grams carob/choc chips
- 100 grams Protein Powder of your Choice, (oat bran is a great clean substitute)

1. Soak dates in boiling water until dates are just covered. Set aside.
2. Add walnuts, almonds and carob/choc chips to mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds on speed 9.
3. Drain dates and add to bowl. Mix for 10 seconds on speed 9. Repeat if dates are not completely chopped.
4. Add water, coconut oil, vanilla extract, cacao powder, salt and protein powder/oat bran. Mix for 30 seconds on speed 6.
5. Press into square tin and place in fridge to set. When set, cut bars into portions and wrap individually in foil.

These were good and super easy to make, but I've decided I don't like walnuts so will swap those for something else when I make them again

If anyone can stuff up a recipe it's usually me...however, not this time! Nailed it!!! Great consistency, lovely taste. I got 18 little bars out of mine.
Like some others turned out really sticky, impossible to get out of the bowl and put into tin. Followed the recipe to a T, tried to then roll them into balls, this was also impossible, ended up throwing it away. Unsure of where it went wrong. All it tasted like to me was Protein powder, so if I did redo I would halve that quantity or substitute for something else.

Ate this at a friends place & loved it (so did my 2yr old) so had to make myself when i got my own thermi. Like another person has said, I dont know if I did something wrong but it was super sticky & didnt set. I struggled to get it out of the tray without it getting very messy so made it into balls instead of a slice. But it still tastes awesome. My toddler thinks its chocolate and Im happy to not correct her.

I quite like these! I made mine with vanilla protein powder (all I had) and they taste really nice, but I'll be buying choc next time to use Edited to add: To get 20 you have to cut them into half the width they are in the pic, which is fine. I prefer them smaller!
I'm not sure what I did wrong with this, but it was SUPER sticky - really hard to get out of the bowl & spread in the tray, then it didn't really set. It got the thumbs up for taste, but no way I could pack in lunch boxes.
If it wouldn't have cut my tongue off I would have licked the blades. That's how good this is!!
I don't eat walnuts so used raw cashews instead and added a tablespoon of chia seeds. Yumm! And when you consider how expensive protein bars and snacks are, a great money saver.
