Recipe's preparation

  1. Measure the butter into your bowl and melt for 2 min, 70 degrees, speed 2.

Add remaining ingredients and mix for 4 sec speed 4.

Cook on an ungreased non stick pan.

Tip

This recipe was taken from a cookbook called 'cooking without red meat' but adapted for the thermomix. These are cakey pancakes, but even with the oats they come up nice and fluffy. They are really filling too!

These are yum, a regular favourite in our house.  For my little girls, I reduced the sugar to 40g, omit the butter and serve with fresh fruit or a smear of jam.

I made these this morning for myself,  hubby and toddler. Blitzed the oats for 2 seconds before adding the rest to 'hide' them from our little one. Substituted sugar for 2tblsp of honey.

Massive hit served with fresh banana and maple. The oats make the hearty and filling without compromising on fluffiness and texture.

Only comment is that the serving sizes are quite generous. I would probably halve for our little family next time, especially if serving with fruit.

The oats gave the pancakes a great texture which made them extra delicious and also made them extra filling too!  Slightly "crumbly" compared to usual pancakes but again, this must be because of the oats - but really didn't matter because the pancake taste made up for it!
