Caramel Syrup for Coffee
- 265 grams white/raw sugar
- 50 grams brown sugar
- 375 grams hot water
- 20 grams vanilla essence

I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Cook 65 grams of the white/raw sugar in on the stove until melted and a nice brown colour.
- Put rest of the white/raw sugar and the brown sugar into TMX.
- Add HOT water to sugar then pour in sugar syrup from stove.
- Cook on Varoma "Gentle stir setting" for 32 mins.
- Add vanilla essence and cook for a further 4 mins Varoma "Gentle stir setting" .
- Store in sterilised bottles.
Tip
TIP:
If the sugar syrup sets hard when you put it into the TMX bowl (and it will if you don't use HOT water) and the blades wont turn on speed "Gentle stir setting" , increase the speed to 4 to break up the toffee, then decrease to "Gentle stir setting" and it will melt as it cooks.
RECIPE COULD BE DOUBLED - just increase cooking time by 20%.

Domestic Diva Unleashed says the syrup could be used on icecream or pancakes or waffles too! Yum!

Question - I am interested in replicating the aldi caramel coffee syrup and thought I'd try this. How long do you think it would last? Would it crystallize if stored in the fridge?
