Has anyone tried this using beef? Do the flavors work well?

    Wow!!!
I took some of the advice given in the comments and added honey at the last 5minute mark. Using just under 1kg of pork ribs, I doubled the sauces (but not the sugar) and marinated the meat for a good 6hours. I also cooked some frozen stirfry vegetables in the Varoma for the last 15minutes.
What a knockout! Even fussy Mr 9 asked for seconds and he never, ever, does that. Next time I will triple this recipe - yes it was that good.

Really, really nice, you can water sauce down a bit too.

Delicious! Doubled the sauces, added a tablespoon of honey and left the MC off for the last 15 mins. Will be a regular in our house.

This is a dish I will certainly cook again. We loved it. I used oyster sauce, soy sauce and sweet chilli and doubled the quantities as suggested. I also cooked some stirfry vegetables to have with it.

I am unable to use oyster sauce (any type of seafood/fish sauce actually) suggestions?

Loved this dish! I used 1kg of sliced pork fillet, 60ml each of oyster and soy sauces. Doubled other ingredients. Used red wine instead of Chinese wine. Step 2 needs to be at Varoma temp too. MC off for last 15 mins to thicken. Also added a tablespoon of honey with 5 mins to go. Served with 2 packets fresh stir fry veggies (mixed meat in wok with veggies when cooked). Could have with noodles or rice.
