Add your passata or homemade sauce, red wine (a good splash), herbs and salt/pepper. 25 MINUTES/110 DEGREES/REVERSECounter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" /SPEED SOFT Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" . MC ON FOR FIRST 10 MINUTES - THEN REPLACE WITH THE BASKET.

Sauce should be nice and thick, if not cook for further 5 minutes. Serve over your choice of pasta.

These are the ingredients we use to cook our pasta bolognese - if you usually have vegetabels in your bolognese, add and chop them after you have sauteed the garlic and onion.

    Enjoy!

Tip

If cooking in a TM31, cook at 100 degrees

I dont make my bolognese overly chunky - if thats how you like it, dont break up the mince much when putting in the bowl. Then after you sautee it, you can place the mince in the simmering basket inside the TM bowl while the sauce cooks below. I prefer the method in my recipe - but this is a different option if you think bigger bits of mince.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
