I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Add garlic, herbs, onion, zucchini, capsicum into bowl chop Sp.6 / 10 sec or until all cut up.
Add tomatoes and sugar, salt and pepper, blend tomatoes on Sp. 6 / 12 sec might need two go's as the bowl will be really full.
Then cook on 30 mins / 100 C / Sp 1 or 2 / without MC.Place simmering basket on top of the lid to avoid splatters.
If the sauce starts to bubble over, turn it down to speed soft or 90 C for 5 mins and then back up again.
After 30 mins add the lentils to the bowl and cook for a further 30 mins / 100 C / Sp 1
Once finished pour straight away into clean glass jars, screw closed tightly and turn upside down to cool.
Should last in the pantry for quite a while.

Hi Jmack,
I never deseed mine for sauce or pasta sauce when I make it in the Thermomix. I love this pasta sauce.
This is the tomato sauce I do for using with meat, pies etc:

Hope this helps
Do tomatoes need to be de seeded I never see this in any instructions for Thermomix pasta sauces but usually I do that for stove top sauces. What is the difference?
Great recipe...I put extra of the herbs & to prevent boiling over I turn it up to 3 1/2 speed while cooking. Sometimes, I have to watch until temperature is at 100* Make sure the bowl is below the max level or on it.
I dId store mine in the pantry last tomato season & it was fine. Bottled hot into hot bottles & it seals.
Lovely intense tomato flavour and nice and thick. I buy these red lentils that take longer to cook than normal so I added them at the beginning and cooked for 20 mins longer. I didn't have any trouble with it boiling over.
I'm using 1.5 kg of cherry tomotos, as I have a heap of
home grown. It's in my Thermie now, smells good.
Does the sauce need to be in the fridge or pantry?
I'll use it with pasta, any other ways to use this pasta sauce?
Thanks for the recipe
This was a great recipe....be sure to turn temp down when it starts to boil as it goes everywhere. Otherwise very yummy
Cheers,
Natalie
Ooops, sorry 150 g red lentils.
