Ingredients

Easy Wombok Salad

  • 600 grams Wombok or Chinese Cabbage
  • 100 grams spring onions/shallots
  • 50 grams Raw Cashew Nuts
  • 100 grams pine nuts

  • 65 grams white wine vinegar
  • 65 grams castor sugar
  • 15 grams soy sauce
  • 5 grams sesame oil
  • 80 grams extra virgin olive oil
  • 100 grams Fried Chinese Cripsy Noodles

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place 50g Raw Cashews into Bowl.
    Place Lid and Mesuring cup on.
    Chop Cashews for 2 Seconds/ Speed 5.
    Add 100g of Pine Nuts into Bowl with Cashews.
    Place Lid and Measuring Cup on.
    Dry Roast Nuts for 4 minutes/ 120 Degrees/ Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" Speed 1.
    Place in a bowl to cool.

    Place 65g White Wine Vinegar, 15g Soy Sauce, 5g Sesame Oil, 80g Olive Oil and 65g Castor Sugar into bowl.
    Place Lid and Measuring Cup on.
    Mix together 3 Seconds/ Speed 6.
    Keep Lid and Mesuring Cup in place.
    Heat Sauce 2 Minutes/ 115 Degrees / Speed 1.
    Pour Sauce into a Jug and set aside.

    Place 300g of roughly chopped wombok into the bowl.
    Place lid and measuring cup on and chop on 3 seconds/ Speed 4.
    Scrape into salad bowl and set aside.
    Repeat step for the remaining 300g of wombok.

    Place 100g of Spring Onions into the bowl.
    Place Lid and Measuring cup on.
    Chop for 5 Seconds Speed 5.
    Scrape into bowl with Wombok.

    Place Cooled Nuts and Crispy Noodles in with Wombok and Spring Onions and Mix together.

    Pour Sauce our when ready to serve.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.
