I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add 25gparmesan and bunch of chives and chop for 5 sec/speed 7. Scrape down sides and repeat if necessary and set aside.
  2. Add 500g chopped potatoes and 125g of milk to the mixing bowl
  3. Replace the measuring cup with the simmering basket and cook 15min/100°/speed 1

The potatoes should now be soft. If they are not cooked enough you will have lumpy mash. If chopped too big or not cooked enough, just add a bit more cooking time.

  4. Add 25g butter, salt and pepper to taste, the parmesan cheese and chive mix to the mixing bowl and "mash" 20 sec/speed 3.
  5. ONLY IF STILL LUMPY "mash" for a further 10 sec /speed 3

Tip

IMPORTANT: If you mash for any more than 30 seconds total, you will end up with sticky, starchy mash.

ENJOY... and if you have given my recipe a go, I'd love for you to take a minute and rate it. Thanks very much.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
