lexibakes: It comes already made in a can, like tinned fruit but its tinned apple. Bizzarely it's not in the supermarket with the other tins of fruit, I think its in the baking aisle???
About
to make this and add a few extras that other reviews have stated such as milk , vanilla , cinnamon and more apples ... should be a hit
lexibakes:hi I thought the same lol but it is meaning apples in general .
have you tried the recipe yet? I'm going to try it tonight and think I'll add milk
as other stated mixture being thick .
This is an easy afternoon tea treat. I have made it with poached rhubarb and apple, apple alone, and with vanilla essence in the dough. Now a family favourite! Thanks for sharing.
What a great recipe. Only a few ingredients and so yummy.
Great recipe but definitely need to make one and half batches of the cake mix.
Prepare to get sticky fingers when spreading the mix. So yummy!!
Yum, didn't last long in our house
yum
Very easy to make my dough was thick but still worked a treat. I too added vanilla and vanilla sugar for a little bit more yumminess.
Thank you for sharing reminded me of a recipe my Mum use to make
Simple recipe, tasted great. Had lots of compliments when baked for work. I melted the butter and added 2 tablesppons of vanilla extract, and I think this helped to create a runnier batter to be able to pour - still a little like pancake batter but was fine to pour (the top layer was more of a drizzle from the bowl so I managed to cover it all easily without having to smooth it over the apples). I also used about 600-750 grams of steamed apple from the varoma and was great. I also sprinkled vanilla sugar on the apple layer, and I sprinkled with a thick layer of icing sugar on the finished product once cooled and cut.
