Recipe's preparation

    Gluten Free Scones
  1. 1. Preheat fan forced oven to 210 degrees.

    2. Line a baking tray with baking paper (or use your Thermomix oven mat).

    3. Place self raising flour, butter, sugar and salt into TM bowl and mix for 8 seconds on speed 8. It will resemble breadcrumbs.

    4. Pour milk into TM bowl and mix for 1 minute on Dough mode"Dough mode" mode.

    5. Scrape dough out of TM bowl onto a floured surface. Gluten Free dough will be sticky. Do NOT work the dough but simply use your hands to shape the dough to about 2.5 - 3cm thick. Use a floured scone cutter to cut out circles approx 4cm round and place on tray. Continue until all dough is used.

    6. Bake for approx 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Tip

Flour your hands to shape the dough and continue to flour the scone cutter throughout. Try not to 'work' the dough but merely shape.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Loved these. Am dairy free so used nuttelex for butter and 20 oil and 200 water for milk.

I was the happy recipient of these lovely scones made by my mother and son. My first scones since going GF over two years ago so what a treat. Thank you for sharing and I'll definitely be whipping up a batch myself.
