Ingredients
- 300 grams buttermilk or milk soured with vinegar
- 200 grams raw sugar
- 230 grams Plain Flour.
- 45 gram cocoa powder
- 1.5 teaspoons Bi Carb Soda
- 185 grams Butter softened
- 2 eggs, Lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence or Paste

1. Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees and line cake tin or cup cake trays. If using sour milk add vinegar to milk.
2. Mill raw sugar 10-12 sec/speed 7 To make it finer. Leave in bowl and add other dry ingredients, mix 4sec/speed7.
3. Add butter, 1/2 milk. Mix 20 sec/speed 5. Scrape down.
4. Add remaining ingredients. Mix 20 sec/speed 5. Scrape down, mix again 10 sec/ speed 5.
5. Pour into lined tin or spoon into patty papers. Bake for 45-50mins. If making cupcakes will need less -approx 30mins.
Tip
This is a recipie I grew up making that I've just converted to Thermomix.
Cooking times may vary depending on your oven. Check at the end of 50mins, sometimes I find it needs a bit longer.

Very tasty, but didn't rise very much. Will use again but will adjust slightly next time I think

Really yummy and a big hit with the kids, I cooked them in my Texas muffin moulds and they took about 40 mins.
