I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
- Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a cookie tray (33cm X 24cm) with coconut oil
- Add butter, brown sugar and the golden syrup to the Thermomix
- Mix on speed 2-3 for 3 minutes on 60°C
- Scrape down sides
- Put Oats and Coconut in a separate bowl/container. Give it a gentle shake so the oats and coconut become one
- Start the Thermomix going on speed 1 and slowly add the oat mixture through the top of the lid. You may need to up to speed 2-3 as more oat mixture is added.
- Once all mixture has been added open Thermomix and check all oat mixture has been combined with the butter mixture
- Pour onto cookie tray and spread the mixture to the edges of the tray
- Most important part of process!
You need to press down the mixture in the tray - Bake in the oven for 20 minutes
- Once baked allow to cool then put in fridge for 30 minutes
- Then the Oat Slice should come out the tray in one piece ready to slice up. Keep in fridge to maintain consistency.
Easy peasy
Tip
You can add more sugar, but I find 70g is the minimum so the slice doesn't crumble.
Also chocolate chips are always welcomed by the kids.
