I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1.

Place onions, apple, capsicum, garlic and tomato in TM and chop 4 sec speed 5.

Add half the vinegar and salt. Cook 10 minutes, 100deg, reverse, speed 2.

Add all remaining ingredients and cook 30 minutes, 100deg, reverse, speed 2.

Check consistency, should be jam like. If not cook for further 10 minutes

If you desire chunky relish, pour immediately into jars, rest lid on for 1 minute then seal.

If you desire smooth, blend 10 seconds speed 8-9 and pour immediately into jars, rest lid on for 1 minute then seal.

I make this and place in the fridge and inhale it so it does not need preservative. If you intend to keep it in jars for a long time substitute half the vinegar with Ezysauce (Coles).

Tip

Stick to the amounts and the relish wil be slightly zingy. If to add really hot chilli or more chilli you will risk losing the great taste to the heat.

After reading all comments, I cut sugar to 150gms, used mustard seed instead of mustard and didn't peel tomatoes. Made 3 jars. Very nice thank you for recipe.

I'm not really a relish person nor a tomato person but HOLY WOW this recipe is absolutely delish! whenever I see people on the Thermomix pages asking what recipe to use up their tomatoes with I send them this all the time!

My neighbour sends me over bags of tomatoes regularly and I make this. This time I made around 8x bottles worth for my peeps at work and everyone has smashed it saying how much they absolutely love it and use it on and in everything (I've even had to make some of them more).

Thank you for such an awesome recipe.

Delicious! Our new favourite. I reduced the sugar to 150gms. The chilli was bang on for us.

Really delicious. I doubled the chille powder and put only 150g sugar. Also used less Apple and more tomato. Yum.

Just made a double batch.... not a good idea. I had to split into two thermomix bowls as it was a bit over the top and bubbling every where. Hope it tastes good when I can try it later.
