Ingredients
American Chocolate Cake
- 125 grams dark chocolate, cut in pieces
- 125 grams dark chocolate, cut in pieces
- 100 grams unsalted butter cubed
- 5 digestive biscuits (I use McVitie's)
- 350 grams plain four
- 300 grams sugar
- 1 tsp bicarb soda
- 300 grams Milk, or buttermilk
- 4 eggs
- 100 grams walnuts

Heat oven to 175C.
Grease large round cake tin and coat with breadcrumbs.
Put biscuits in TM bowl and crumb for 5 sec, sp 5.
Add butter to biscuits and melt for 4 mins, 100C, sp1, set aside.
Without cleaning bowl, add walnuts and 125 g chocolate, chop for 5 sec, sp 8, set aside.
Put 125g chocolate into TM bowl and melt for 3 mins, 90C, sp2.
Add sugar, bicarb soda, flour, milk and eggs, mix for 1 min, sp 4, scrape down sides of bowl, then increase speed to sp 6 for 5 sec to make batter light and smooth.
Pou batter into prepared cake tin.
Mix walnut and chocolate mixture with crimbed biscuit mix and pour over cake batter.
Crumb mixture will sink into batter.
Bake cake for approx 60 mins.
Let cake cool before turning out onto cake rack.
When totally cool, dust with icing sugar to serve.
