Banana Chocolate Chip Slice
- 140 grams Butter
- 180 grams white sugar
- 180 grams brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 --- egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 --- large bananas, peeled
- 500 grams plain flour
- 2 tsp baking powder

Put butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla and salt in bowl.
Mix on speed 4/ 20 seconds m/c onScrape down the sides of bowl.
- Add: bananas .
Mix on speed 3/25 seconds with m/c on.
Scrape down sides of bowl. Add butterfly. Add flour and baking powder.
Mix on Speed 1/ 15 seconds on reverse. m/c on
Scrape down sides of bowl.Mix on Speed 1/ 15 seconds on reverse. m/c on.
- Add chocolate chips. mix on reverse Speed 1 for 15 seconds.
Spread evenly into a grease paper lined 30 cm X 26 cm pan with low sides.
Bake at 180C for 20-25 minutes. Or until tester comes out clean.
Cool 15 minutes and cut into squares.

Freezes well.
Can add 200 grams of walnuts if you like.

Only had small bananas, and used 7. Really hard to mix. Think it needs a weight for peeled bananas. Cooked, but not yet sliced.
Used 100g choc chips as not specified.
My poor thermy really struggled with the mixing of ingredients in this recipe. After removing the butterfly, I ended up having to stir the mixture by hand. It is really stiff. The recipe didn't state the quantity of chocolate chips, so I used 3/4's of a packet. Just wondering if perhaps milk should be added? The slice is cooking now, hopefully I haven't wasted my ingredients. If it tastes good, I'll resort to using an electric mixer next time.
