Best Ever Aussie pumpkin pie

  • 1 portion Shortcrust Pastry
  • 500 g Kent pumpkin, Chunky cut
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 --- egg, Whole
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 level teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 1 level teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 level teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/8 level teaspoons Chinese Five Spice
  • 1 level teaspoons fine salt

Recipe's preparation

    Pie crust
  1. Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" Make pastry as per recipe I used one on RC or store bought is fine and set aside in fridge
  2. Pie filling
  3. Place 1 ltr of water into tm bowl and put cut pumpkin in varoma tray, steam till fork tender. 30mins, veroma temp, sp2 add or decrease time if needed ( set aside to cool)
    3. In a clean dry bowl add cooled pumpkin, condensed milk, eggs and spices.
    4. Blend together 15 sec, sp4
    5. Pour into prepared pie crust
    6. Bake in a pre heated oven 200deg 15min reduce temp 170deg bake further 30mins (test pie with clean skewer, ok if centre is a little undercooked it will set on cooling)
    Cool completely and serve with dollop of cream
