  • 250 grams Boiling water
  • 500 grams rolled oats
  • 500 grams Quinoa flakes
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 150 grams flaked almonds, Or desired nuts
  • 100 grams Desiccated Coconut
  • 100 grams Cranberries, Or desired dried f

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add the Dates and Water to the Bowl and let sit for 15 - 20 minutes before pureeding at Speed 5 for 20 - 30 seconds. 

     

  2. Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl before adding the pureed dates and mixing throughly.  

  3. Spread out on to a lined baking tray and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and mix through before repeating again after another 10 minutes and again until the crunchy museli is nice and brown. Let cool before putting in a sealed jar. Will keep well for 2 weeks.

    This recipe didn't work for me either. I halved the amount of oats and quinoa flakes and added additional water. Big disaster, had to throw it away  tmrc_emoticons.((

    Did you include the water? I would have used more water and ensured the mixture was completely wet before baking. Hope your next try is a success!

    Sorry but this didn't work for me.  I used half measurements of oats & quinoa but it was really, really dry.  I ended up trying to only bake the bits that had managed to get some liquid on.  I added coconut oil & maple syrup while cooking to try to get more moisture.  I ended up throwing at least half away. The overall favour was nice so I will be trying a variant of this at a later date.  Please let me know if I did something obvious wrong!
