Ingredients

  • 200 grams Dark Sugar Free Chocolate Block or Chips
  • 200 grams oats
  • 170 grams pitted dates
  • 130 grams soft butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Bi-Carb Soda (Baking Soda)

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 180degrees C and line two baking trays with baking paper


    2. Turbo chocolate 1 sec to make chunky chips if using block chocolate. Set aside


    3. Mill 200g rolled oats 10 sec sp8 Set aside


    4. Blend 170g dates 15 sec sp7 Scrape down sides


    5. Add 130g soft butter and cream 30 sec sp 4 (scrape sides half way)


    6. Add egg and vanilla and beat 15 sec sp 4 till combined


    7. Add back blended oats and salt and bi-carb and mix 10 sec sp4


    8. Add in chocolate mix 10 sec sp4


    9. Roll into balls (makes somewhere between 16 - 24 depending on size)


    10. Bake for 10 mins or until just brown and soft


    11. Allow to cool before eating. They will be a bit crumbly, but we LOVE them that way...

    Very yummy, quick to make. 

    I added some chopped almonds with the chocolate and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. I think the next time I make them I won't make with chocolate as they are sweet enough... Maybe next time with ginger or some other sort of dried fruit.

    Really yummy! I use a banana in place of the butter and added coconut and some nuts.
