Lactation Cookies
Tip
Brewers Yeast has quite a strong flavour which is why the recipe says 2-4 tablespoons. I personally add 3 heaped.
I like my cookies nice and chocolatey but you can halve the choc chips (or even add more!) and they are still yummy!
I empty the mixture into a separate bowl and then use a small (half size) metal icecream scoop to get the cookies all the same size.
The milk increasing (galactagogues) ingredients in the recipe are the oats, linseed and brewers yeast.
Bake for 12 mins for soft in the middle cookies, or a little longer if you like them crunchy.

I made these for a girlfriend who is due soon, so I can't comment if they have helped milk supply or not. But they are super yummy biscuits, had to test one for quality control of course!
Would love to make these gluten free for my cousin! If anyone has, what's the best flour to use?
Omg so yum! How many should you eat before a feed/ day? Can you freeze them and how?
Great for increasing milk production had two early evening & woke in the morning to having plenty of milk which lately I've been having some troubles.
I can't comment yet on milk production properties but just on taste alone, these were so good. I made the dough prior to the birth of bub and froze it so defrosted a roll and baked them. Even hubby likes the taste of them. Will definitely be making these often and hope they do work well for milk supply.
Great recipe! I reduced the sugar by half, and substituted the dark chocolate with dried cranberries and white chocolate instead. It was still sweet enough. Delicious!
Have also noticed and increase supply by having 2-3 a day. Tasted like normal choc chip cookies to me!
garthandrea: I found 2 a day helped me!
Can these be frozen? Will it affect the milk properties?
how many should we have each day?
Delicious! Will reduce amount of sugar next time I make these, or substitute ingredients as previously suggested by others. Hopefully it will help with my supply - only made them this afternoon.
