  • 1 egg
  • 150 grams SR Flour (or GF SR Flour)
  • 130 grams Peanuts, Unsalted
  • 100 grams choc chips

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Line 2 large baking trays with baking paper.
    Add butter and sugar to bowl, cream 20 seconds/speed 5.
    Add other ingredients and mix 30 seconds Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 3.
    Roll into balls and place on baking trays, allowing enough room for biscuits to spread.
    Bake until golden brown, approx 20 minutes. Allow to cool 5 minutes then move to cooling racks. Place into an airtight container to store.

Tip

This is my late Grandmother's recipe, which was also my Grandfather's favourite biscuit. She made it without the choc chips, but my Mother has been making it with choc chips for many years. It's now a family favourite of 5 generations, as my sisters, our children, and my niece and nephew's children all love them!

If using butter from the fridge, you can soften it first for 25 seconds/50 degrees/speed 4.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

    This recipe is delicious, I didn't have peanuts so substituted slivered almonds, I'm sure the peanuts would be better. The nutty taste just makes them so much nicer. I will certainly be making these again and next time using peanuts. Thank you for sharing.
