Ingredients

  • 1 orange, zest and juice
  • 150 grams Dates pitted
  • 100 grams Figs
  • 150 grams sultanas
  • 150 grams currants
  • 50 grams Cranberries
  • 5 grams mixed spice
  • 100 grams quinoa
  • 1 litre water
  • 45 grams chia seeds
  • 100 grams water
  • 60 grams olive oil

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. 1.Peel the rind in strips from the orange, place in TM bowl and grate 20 seconds, speed 10


    2.Add dates and figs and blend 10 seconds, speed 6


    3.Add sultanas, currants, cranberries, mixed spice, orange juice and blend reverse, 10 seconds, speed 2


    4. Set mixture aside.


    5. To cook quinoa: place quinoa and 1L of water into TM bowl and cook 15 mins, 100°C, speed 2 with simmering basket on top instead of MC


    6. Drain quinoa and add back into bowl along with chia seeds, olive oil and 100g water.


    7. Mix for 10 seconds, reverse, speed 2.


    8. Add reserved fruit mixture and mix for 20 seconds, reverse, speed 3.


    9. Place mixture into 100ml silicone moulds, ¾ full


    10.Add silicone moulds into varoma dish and tray, cover with lid.


    11. Add 1.5L of water into TM bowl, place varoma on top of bowl.


    12. Steam puddings for 40 minutes, Varoma temperature, speed 1.


    Delicious served with custard.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
