Ingredients

Best Beetroot Bread

240 gm grated beetroot or left over pulp from juicing moistened

  • 50 grams Butter
  • 20 grams honey
  • 200-240 grams water lukewarm
  • 21/2 teaspoons dried yeast
  • 80 grams Sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 600 grams bakers flour
  • 1 level teaspoon salt
  • 240 grams Grated beetroot

Recipe's preparation

  1. If required, grate beetroot (roughly cut) 10 seconds speed 6-7
    Otherwise, use pulp
  2. Melt butter 3 minutes 50 degrees speed 3
    Add luke warm water
    Add honey and yeast
    Mix 2 minutes 37 degrees speed 2
    Let stand 10-12 minutes to activate yeast
  3. Put oven on 180 degrees C and prepare tin or tray for baking
  4. Add sour cream or yogurt, flour, beetroot and salt
    Mix 6 seconds speed 6
    Knead 2 minutes
  5. Let dough rise until doubled in size:
    In a bowl covered with gladwrap for rolls
    When place the rolls on tray cover until risen again (20 mins)
    In bread tin for bread
    Bake in oven:
    1/2 hour for bread
    20 minutes for rolls
