Sterilize 2 bottles - can be done by putting clean bottles in 100 degree oven.
Tip
Slightly longer cooking time will make the sauce thicker.
Sauce is great on meat - cold or hot, chops, sausages,
If you prefer to make a large batch of sauce on the stove top and do preparation in TM, the following is ingredients required:
3 kg tomatoes, 2 large onions, 5 green apples, 11/3 cups white vinegar, 2 tablespoons of salt, 1 heaped teaspoon of mustard powder, 1 teaspoon of cloves, 1 teaspoon of allspice, 1/2 teaspoon of cayene pepper, 680 gm sugar
Puree onion, apple, tomatoes. cook all ingredients except sugar which I add at the end. Takes 31/2 hours approx cooking on low. When sugar is added and heated and disolved. Transfer some at a time into TM bowl and puree 1min and then heat to 100 degrees and pour into bottles.
Cuts preparation time and normal cooking time in half

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Oh My Goodness...made this today with the over abundance of tomatoes from my garden. I read through some of the comments and lessened the sugar by 50 grams. This sauce is the BOMB! So good, thank you for sharing
The mixing bowl was filled to the brim initially however it blended down and didn't overflow when cooking. Would definitely make again. Elk Grove Tree Care
Made with our own homegrown tomatoes. Is now the go to tomato sauce recipe, my family don't want bought sauce anymore. Cooked for the longer times, taste and consistency amazing. Thank you for sharing
Great recipe. Thank you. Followed it to the letter.
Turned out a treat, cooked for the maxium time. A little on the sweet side so might reduce the sugar next batch.
Great go to sauce. Turns out perfectly every time
Great recipe, works perfectly. Even better with double mustard, cloves, allspice & cayenne pepper!
Makes approx 1.3ltrs per batch for anyone wondering amounts...
Delicious sauce. I had no problem making it in the TM31, just scaled down the quantities a little. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
