Recipe's preparation

    Apple Crumble
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

  2. Place butter, flour, oats and brown sugar in TM bowl, mix 12 sec/ speed 5 - mixture should resemble breadcrumbs. Remove from TM Bowl and put aside in seperate bowl then mix through caster sugar with a spoon.

  3. Peel, core and quarter apples and place in TM Bowl, chop 5 secs/ speed 4. Add water and cinnamon (you can do this to taste). Cook 6-9 mins (check them at 6 to see if they have your required cruch factor)/ temp 80/ speed 2. /Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation"

  4. Remove all apple mix from TM Bowl and place in ovenproof casserole dish.

  5. Pour generous handful of frozen berries (to your taste) into TM Bowl, chop 6 secs/ Speed 5.  (If your berry mix has strawberries in it it will take them longer to break down but I just put them in big as they came out and it was delicious.  Also, big berries will still be frozen, don't worry they will cook in the oven!)

  6. Pour berries into apple dish and mix.  Your mix will turn red!   Cover apple and berry mixture with all of the crumble mixture.   If you think there is too much water, don't panic!

  7. Bake in preheated oven (180C) for 30 - 40 mins till crumble is starting to brown and apple/berry mix is bubbling at side.

Tip

Tip 1: If your apples aren't sweet enough sprinkle a little brown sugar on the apple/berry mix before adding the crumble on top.

Tip 2:  Enjoy with EDC Custard, cream or ice-cream!

Very yummy, but I think I'll double it next time to feed our family of 6

If you find it's a bit dry just add a little more water in the apple cooking stage.  I generally adjust as required depending on how juicy the apples are.  tmrc_emoticons.)

I followed the recipe exactly and thought it was excellent.  Mine wasn't dry at all, maybe my apples were juicier!  Thanks for sharing, this is a winner in our house!  In fact, I'm eating some right now tmrc_emoticons.)

Very yummy, but needs custard & more apple to take away the dryness.

Made last night. Added six apples as I wanted to feed more people.  Used tree tomatoes instead of berries. The apple was still a little crunchy for me so next time would cook a little longer. I doubled the crumble mixture.  Served with custard, cream and ice cream and dinner guests were very happy.
