Recipe's preparation

    Choc Date Balls
  1. Place dates and boiling water in a small saucepan and simmer until the water has been absorbed (Approx 10 mins)

While these are simmering, mill cashews approx 10 secs on Speed 7 and then add Cacoa powder

Add softened dates and mix on Speed 4-5 until well combined

Roll teaspoons of mixture into balls and roll in desiccated coconut

    Refrigerate until firm

Tip

Mixture is a bit warm when first made. If left to sit for two minutes, will be easier to roll

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

My son had the delicious condensed milk variety of choc balls at a party and was at me to get the recipe. I was determined to find a way to make a healthy version to sneak added nutrition into him and this is what I came up with. His verdict - better than the party ones! I made them for his teacher as an end of year gift and she also loved them tmrc_emoticons.) I hope you enjoy them too!
