From the children's book of the same name by Josephine Croser, Ashton Scholastic, 1986
- 1 load of stones, = 250g shortbread biscuits
- 1 shovel of dirt, = 1 tbsp drinking chocolate
- 1 scoop of sand, = 1 cup coconut
- concrete, = 400g sweetened, condensed milk
- extra sand

Place biscuits into bowl and chop for 5 seconds on speed 8.
Add drinking chocolate, coconut and condensed milk and mix for 20 seconds on speed 4.
Allow mixture to cool in the frig. Once cool, form mixture into walnut-sized round balls and roll through the extra sand.

I had to check this out Ros as my DH is a road builder from way back. I made a batch for my grand children and it was a hit especially when I told them the 'ingredients list'! I did swap the chocolate drinking powder for cocoa just to cut down on the sugar content and used plain arrowroot biscuits for less fat. A request for another batch is already in. Not just for children either, me thinks! thanks for sharing.
