I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven 170ºC/180ºC

    2. Mix all ingredient EXCEPT the cocoa powder in the TM bowl
    at 1min/Speed 5.
    3. Pour out batter, leaving about 1/4 in the TM bowl.
    4. Add cocoa powder in TM bowl and mix 6s/Speed 5.
    5. Dollop spoonfuls of batter into loaf pan,
    alternating the white and chocolate.
    6. Use a skewer to mix the 2 batters.
Careful not to overmix or it will lose the marble effect when sliced.
(I kind of wrote a letter "S")(I did it twice in the photo shown
and the marble did not turn out great so I'll stick to just once)
    F. Bake for 1 hour or until skewer comes out clean.

Tip

This recipe is adapted from Australia Easy Cookbook and makeitperfect. The cake is soft and not too sweet. Perfect if you want to ice the cake. Bear in mind marble effect is better if baked tall rather than flat.

I added a teaspoon of rum for variation.

My 4yo and 6yo had friends over today so we made a rainbow cake using the recipe! Delicious! They weren't very patient to get it out of the Bundt silicone pan I had - still works and tastes so good! So fun!

This seriously awesome! I used it for my 50th number cake and it is delicious! Made 1.5 times the recipe and it was perfect. Swirled with a knife and it was amazing! Here's the result after the peaks off cut and before I levelled it! Thank you so much!

This cake deserves its rating. I'm a chronic tinkerer with recipes: I used half white and half wholemeal flour, increased milk to 200g, and reduced sugar to 110g (half the quantity). The result was heavenly! I topped it with milk and white chocolate 'marble' ganache (covered top of the cake with a thin layer of milk choc ganache, and then drizzled about half as much white choc ganache over the top). The cake itself was moist and light, and with the ganache the sweetness was just right. This recipe is going in the vault! Thank you for sharing.

I’ve been making marble cake for years. Tried the one from the chip to be very dry and slightly bitter. But your recipe is AMAZING 😋 very moist and the perfect consistency. Thank you so much for sharing this. It is going to be my go-to for marble cake. I make a double batch & It’s a hit in our household!!
