Great flavours. Substituted frozen mango for the strawberry and still tasted good.Smile

I rate this highly! Simple to make. Healthy. And pretty tasty! Might try it with some honey mixed in tomorrow for extra flavour. The choc protein works a treat!

I can’t eat bananas, could I submit, or would it be okay to leave it out?

We doubled this, without the chia seeds and used fresh fruit instead of frozen. I also had chocolate flavoured protein powder. The result was amazingly delicious and produced enough for each of our three children to have a kids' serving and my husband still got a second helping.

How long would this last in the fridge? Could I make it and take it to work? Sounds delicious!

Tried this today, and it was delish! I sub'd the strawberries for blueberries as that was all I had, and it was lovely. Will def make it again. So quick and easy, and filling!

I didn't blend the oats and almonds long enough so mine stayed a tad thick and crunchy/glugy. However I liked the texture and flavours! My protein powder is super sweet as it is (I really dont like it too much) so I will try this again with a less sweet version.

Thanks very much for this recipe!

Great recipe as written and works well as a 'base' smoothie with any combination of fruits! I have been using this every morning for around 6 months now. I find around 200ml of skim mlik / water gives a better consistency and if you start lower you can always add more in to taste. For variation try:

    1. Blueberries. My favourite and a lot of health benefits. You can buy in bulk frozen bags at most major supermarkets.

    1. Swap the almonds out with Walnuts.

    2. Use cocoa nibs in place of almonds, 150g berries total and use chocolate Whey protein or unflavoured Whey and Cacao powder to flavour.

    Thanks rachellam

I tried this with Almond milk this morning & used 150g of raspberries instead of the strawberries... amazing!

any idea how many it serves... 2-3?
