Recipe's preparation

    Vanilla Syrup
  1. Put water, sugar and brown sugar in thermomix bowl cook for 40min/varoma/Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" measuring cup off.

    add vanilla extract (you could probably add whatever flavour you would like at this point) and cook for further 5min/varoma/Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" measuring cup off.

    allow to cool a little and pour into prepared 1lt glass bottle.

    enjoy!

     

    **store in the fridge in an airtight container should last two to three weeks. Freeze some if you can not use it all in that time or you could make less and adjust cooking time**

    Depending on what flavouring you choose to use (if any can be made with just sugar and water) it can be used as a flavouring for hot drinks, yogurt, ice cream or pancake topping, to sweeten sauces or savoury meals also saw a recipe on the internet for homemade cream soda the uses are as endless as your imagination.

    If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

    My little boy loves his vanilla milk shakes now. I use my homemade vanilla sugar (sifted so there are no large lumps). Thanks. We always have this ready for special treats. I also use it in many of my cake and cookie recipes when vanilla is called for especially when I know the mixture need a bit more moisture.
