Great recipe, I added a small handful of diced bacon, a tsp of veg stock paste and some parsley! Delicious.
Yum!
We omit the asparagus, but double the corn & add some frozen peas too
Thanks a lot, i now use this as my base for tuna mornay. I always forget to buy tin asparagus so haven't tried with that but I do vary the veggies, adding carrot with the onion and frozen peas with the corn. I also add a dash of Dijon for extra flavour. kids love it. Thanks you!
Love this mornay! It is one of my husband's favourites too- always turns out perfect! Thanks for sharing
Thanks everyone for your comments. I have amended step 4 and adjusted the time and temperature based on the feedback. I found 80 degrees was an ideal temp for the children but should have stated this in my original recipe posting. The amended details are now suitable for adults!
This was really yummy. Added a clove of garlic and fresh carrot and frozen peas instead. Needed to be on a higher temperature for extra time as was not hot enough for serving up.
Really yummy!
i didn't have tin asparagus so just didn't add but still really yummy! I had to cook for additional 6mins as it was a little cold for my liking.
We used 2x smaller tins of Tuna in springwater as we'd run out of big tins & it worked out fine. Fresh Parsley at the end would have gone great too.
Even the 8yo loved it and he always turns his nose up at mornay!!
Good Recipe, but changed the corn for mixed peas corn and carrot and step 4 needed a little longer then the recommended 6 min left in for 15min to warm all the way through. but tasted great put with rice very filling thanks
