Ingredients
batter
- 200 grams cooked meat, eg leftover roast
- 500 grams homemade sourdough starter
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted, or oil of choice
- 1/2 teaspoon seasalt
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Sweetener of choice, eg maple syrup (optional)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon water

Heat cast iron frying pan- medium
Dice meat into large cubes and add to TM bowl, Chop 5sec/ 3 speed (less if you prefer chunky). Set aside.
Melt butter 50deg/1min/3 speed
Scrape sides and check if all melted.
Add sourdough starter, egg, salt, sweetener and mix 20sec/"Counter-clockwise operation" 3 speed
Scrape sides and add meat. Mix 20 sec/"Counter-clockwise operation" 3 speed
Dissolve Baking soda in water. Scrape sides and add to TM bowl. Mix 20sec/"Counter-clockwise operation" /2 speed
Lightly oil pan. Drop tablespoons of mixture in Pan.
Turn when bubbling on top or cooked half way thru.
Serve with relish/ tomato sauce for snack or veges for kids dinner!
NOTE
Recipe requires established sourdough starter of any kind.
Feed up sourdough starter to approx 2 cups (roughly 500g) with any type of flour the morning/night before, or at least 3 hrs prior to starting fritters.
Tip
My little kids aren't keen on red meat so this my fave way of 'hiding' if in for some protein/iron... easy to chew and digest for littlies!
