I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1.  Fill Thermomix bowl with 500gms water - place chopped pumpkin and potato into the Varoma tray and cook for 15-20 minutes Varoma temp speed 1 (cooking time will depend on size of vegetable pieces).

    2. When vegetables are cooked empty bowl of water and puree in the bowl on Speed 5 for 15 seconds.

    3. Add flour and mix for a further 15 seconds speed 3 to form a dough.

    4. Divide dough into four parts rolling each part into a sausage.  Slice gnocchi out of the roll (Raffaela suggests about 1/2" in size each). Put the gnocchi on a lightly floured tray and boil some water.

    5. When the water is boiling start dropping gnocchi in. They will be ready when they are floating to the surface. Take them out and place them on a tray. When they are all ready you can choose how to serve them. We followed the recipe instructions and melted margarine and safe in a pan and added the gnocchi to this just crisping them up slightly. We then served with the Thermomix tomato pasta sauce.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Nice recipe, next time i would steam the veggies ahead of time and let them cool down and dryout a bit to make the dough more manageable. Kids loved it!

We enjoyed the gnocchi and we're sure that frying it at the end really added to the taste compared to other gnocchis we've made. We served it with a puttanesca sauce. Although the gnocchi wasn't difficult ito make it was a bit fiddly and we ended up with piles of washing up which puts us off making it again.

My First time making gnocchi and it was a great success! My fussy 5 y.o. Who didn't want any pumkin loved it. I roasted in the oven a small amount of pumkin & mixed it in at the end after frying the gnocchis with butter & topped it all with a basic Passata sauce & Parmesan cheese. The ratio of each ingredients were perfect in the dough. Delicious thank you 😊

This was better then our italian employers gnocchi think frying it off had a lot to do with it & adding my own 1st homemade pasta sauce the only down side their wasn’t enough for the 5 of us so will have to double the batch next time. My son wanted more over ice cream 😱

Absolutely beautiful. thank you, will def make again.Smile
Note to help: make sure your pumpkin & potato is 'dry' (no condensation) after cooking otherwise dough will be sticky.

This is amazing! Made this many times now. Quick and easy to make and my 2 & 1 year olds favourite! It's on the meal planner every week at the moment. Goes with all sauces too. Thank you.
