Thermojonz's Orzo Pasta Salad
- • 250g orzo pasta • 100g salami, cut into thin strips • 100g feta cheese, crumbled • 100g fresh spinach leaves • 50g sun-dried tomatoes, chopped • 1 small red onion, finely diced • Salt and pepper, to taste
Pesto
- • 40g fresh basil leaves • 20g pine nuts • 40g parmesan cheese, grated • 1 garlic clove • 100g olive oil • 1 tbsp lemon juice • Salt and pepper, to taste

- 1.Cook the Orzo Pasta:
•Add 1 litre of water and a pinch of salt into the Thermomix bowl.
•Insert the simmering basket and add the orzo pasta.
•Cook at 100°C, speed 4 for 9-10 minutes (or according to the package instructions), until the pasta is al dente.
•Once done, remove the simmering basket and set the pasta aside to cool.
2.Prepare the Basil Pesto:
•Place the basil leaves, pine nuts, parmesan, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper into the Thermomix bowl.
•Blend at speed 7 for 20 seconds, or until smooth and well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl if necessary and blend for a few more seconds if needed. Set aside.
3.Assemble the Salad:
•In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled orzo pasta, salami strips, crumbled feta, spinach leaves, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, and diced red onion.
•Pour the pesto over the salad and toss gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4.Serve:
•Serve immediately as a fresh lunch or chill in the refrigerator for an hour for a colder option. Garnish with extra basil leaves if desired.

The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
