I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcuis 170 degrees fan forced.Grease and line small slice tin ( 23 cm square) with baking paper. Put the cup of walnuts into bowl and mill 5 sec speed 7. Add flour, sugar, and butter and mix on speed 5 until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Put just less under half of this mix into the tin and press down. This will form the base of the slice, and will be about 3 - 4 mm thick. Leave the rest of the mixture in the Thermomix bowl.
Add the milk and bicarb into TM bowl containing the rest of "base" mixture, 10 seconds, speed 5. Add egg and mashed banana 15 seconds, speed 5
The mixture will seem quite runny.
Pour into the slice tin.
Sprinkle the crushed walnuts over the top and bake in a moderate oven for 45 minutes of until skewer comes out clean.
Let cool in tin for 10 minutes and then remove to cool completly. I find it easier to cut into slices while it is still a little warm.
Enjoy!!

What a nice change from the regular Banana Bread, Banana Cake recipe. This is moist & delicious & a real hit with the family. Thank you a wonderful recipe.
awesome recipe. Enjoyed by all.
So easy, and incredibly delicious. Didn't have enough walnuts, so used a mix of walnut and almond. It's a "winner".
