I'm cooking this todayRecipe's preparation
Put milk and butter in bowl and heat at 37c for 2 mins speed 1 . Add egg and mix for 5 secs speed 4
Add yeast flour sugar and salt to bowl .
Mix speed 6 for 6 secs to combine
Knead for 3 mins using dough function
Remove from bowl and let to prove for 1 hr or until it has doubled in size , You can use your thermo mat or a greased bowl covered with a cloth .
Once proved knock it back and cut in in half .
Roll these halves into a log and cut into pieces . Finally roll into balls ( if filling leave as balls )
If you want them for cinnamon donuts then flatten a little and cut out a hole using a donut cutter or small circle shape .
Let to prove for 15 mins
Heat oil -to 175-180 c deep fryer works best but you can use a pan .
Cook a few at a time so not to let oil drop in temp .
Cook for approx 5 mins or until golden . you may need to turn these manually if they dont flip in the oil after one side is done .
Roll in cinnamon sugar ,
orif you made balls - using a piping bag or syringe fil with ganache or custard , jam or cream .
I serve with chocolate sauce or coulis and fresh strawberries
Sit down relax and enjoy .

Tip
Get the kids to roll the doughnuts lots of fun .
if you cut out the hole cook these too and they are really delicous .

Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

A massive favorite with my kids.
Newby here. Obviously had my oil too hot because they burned on the outside after five seconds! Will try again another day. Very hard without a thermometer. 🤣
Great recipe. We cooked ball doughnuts in a saucepan and they turned out perfect!
My daughter loved making these, lots of fun. But ours were a bit chewy...any ideas why?
But would still make them again😉
Great recipe. So easy. Tasted great. Thank you!
I havent tried making doughnuts yet but has anyone tried cooking them in an air fryer? how do you think they'd turn out? (I prob know the answer - the deep frying is what makes them delicious)
Not too bad but I found the final result very heavy when cooked. Will still make on a cold day though!
Someone please stop me eating allll the doughnuts!! These are amazing, so much better than any I've tried before. I left them as balls but didn't anticipate how much they would grow...still incredible!!!
I have tried a few doughnut recipes and none of them have worked out as beautifully as these did, I add a little nutmeg into the dough and it makes them extra tasty!! love it!!!
Made these yesterday and they were inhaled in quick time. Very nice, thanks for sharing.
