Ingredients

Sourdough Banana Bread

  • 375 grams bananas, Peeled & chopped into large portions
  • 255 grams brown sugar
  • 1.5 level teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 --- eggs
  • 100 grams Sourdough starter, unfed
  • 250 grams plain flour
  • 1.5 heaped teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinches sea salt flakes
  • 125 grams coconut oil
  • 60 grams Milk

Recipe's preparation

    Making Bread
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C

    Line loaf pan with baking paper
  2. Weigh in the bananas, brown sugar and vanilla into the TM Bowl and Blend"Blend" 15 seconds on speed 4.
  3. Add 1 x egg and Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" 5 seonds on speed 3.5.
  4. Add final egg and 5 seonds on speed 3.5.
  5. Add sourdough starter and Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" 5 seconds on speed 3.5.
  6. Sift plain flour, baking powder and salt in a seperate bowl.

    Add half of plain flour mix into TM Bowl and Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" 5 seconds on speed 4.
  7. Add remaining plain flour mix to TM Bowl and Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" 5 seconds on speed 4.
  8. Add milk and oil to TM Bowl and Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" 15 seconds on speed 3.5.
  9. Pour batter into prepared loaf tin and cover with lid or aluminium foil.

    Bake in the middle of the oven for 35 minutes.
  10. Remove lid/foil from loaf tin and bake for another 35 minutes.

    Once baking is complete allow to cool in loaf tin slightly then rest on cooling rack.

    Best served warm or toasted with butter.
