Ingredients

Tasty Crustless Quiche

  • 200 g cheese, approx 3cm cubes
  • 1 brown onion, peeled and cut in half
  • 60 g Butter, approx 2cm cubes
  • 75 g self-raising flour
  • 375 g Milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 heaped tsp Vegetable stock paste, (see tips)
  • 100 g ham, cubed, or cooked bacon in small pieces (optional)

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees c fanbake, or 180-190 degrees c bake.
    Grease well (butter or oil) a quiche dish approx 25cm diameter, or 20cmx30cm.
  2. 2. Chop cheese 6 sec, speed 8. Tip into another bowl. No need to clean thermomix bowl
  3. 3. Chop onion 3 sec, speed 5.5. Closed lid"Closed lid" Scrape down sides of bowl. If you wish to add other chopped vegetables such as capsicum, broccoli, spinach then you can add here and chop to desired size, then scrape down again.
  4. 4. Add 60g butter cubes and sautee 2 min, varoma temp, speed 1. Closed lid"Closed lid"
  5. 5. Add self-raising flour, milk, eggs, vege stock paste & ham/cooked bacon (if using), and blend 15 sec, speed 4.
  6. 6. Pour into greased dish and bake for 45-60 mins until light brown on top

Tip

It is a very versatile recipe you can add many flavours to. I often top with halved cherry toms and cream cheese cubed.

    For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
