Ingredients
Biscuit Mix
- 100 g rolled oats
- 150 g plain flour
- 70 g Desiccated Coconut
- 190 g brown sugar, break down any lumps
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (bicarbonate of soda)
- 2 tablespoons Boiling water
- 125 g Butter, cubed, soft
- 60 g golden syrup

The ingredients for this recipe are courtesy of the PWMU Cookbook, a cookbook which has been used by countless mothers and grandmothers over the past 100 years.

Use Closed Lid Position for all steps "Closed lid"
Preheat oven to 160C and line two baking trays with baking paper.
Dissolve baking soda in boiling water.
Place butter and golden syrup into the TM bowl, melt at 90C for 3 minutes on Speed 1. Check that all butter is melted.
Add premixed soda and water mix to the TM bowl and mix for 3 seconds on "Gentle stir setting" .
Add all other ingredients to the TM bowl and combine for 5 seconds on Speed 4.
Roll the mixture into balls approximately 2cm in diametre, place evenly on baking trays.
Flatten each ball with fingers and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
After baking, turn out biscuits on a cooling racks for a minimum of 5 minutes or until biscuits have hardened.
Traditional ANZAC Biscuits
Tip
Your biscuits should not spread too much during cooking and should have a crunchy texture.
You can use a spoon or a fork to flatten the biscuits, however, the mixture will stick to them. Hence I use fingers.

These were yummy. Soft inside and crisp outside. Baked for 12 mins. Reduced sugar to 130g and still sweet enough.
