Recipe's preparation

    Yogurt
  1. Go to the Menu on your Thermomix, select Automatic Recipes then select Yogurt.

Select the scales and weigh in Long life milk, add 200g of your Jalna Vanilla Yogurt, add in 5 tablespoons of Milk Powder, 4 tablespoons of Sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla paste.

Skip through all of the instructions on your Thermomix screen and turn the selector dial to start when prompted.

When finished pour into a large container and chill for 4 hours, the end result will be full bodied, firm vanilla yogurt.

Set aside some yogurt into the Jalna tub and freeze to use with your next batch as the started for the live cultures found in good quality yogurt.

Scroll down to see my tips.

Tip

You can substitute Vanilla Paste for another sweetener to suit your taste/diet.

You can increase or reduce sugar to suit taste but i find this method is the closest to the Jalna Premium Pot Set Vanilla Yogurt.

    Recipe is created for
    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

This is the best thick yoghurt! I used light milk and skim milk powder and it still worked perfectly!!

KaitlynLouise: Hi! I find it will last at least 2 weeks (as long as we don't eat it before then!). If it looks like it won't all get used I freeze it in icebube blocks and add them to banana smoothies.
