Our new favourite icing. Not too sweet and easy to spread and pipe. Definitely worth the extra effort.

    Hawkins2013:
How did you go with doubling recipe? I am wanting to use for a layer cake.
Also can you use skim milk or does it need to be full cream to make the roux?

To decorate 24 cupcakes would I need to double the mixture do you think? And would I just double the cook time if I doubled mixture? Thanks so much looks fantastic!

Great recipe. Does anyone know if this will work with gluten free flour? TIA 😊

This icing is absolutely delicous, light and fluffy!! The kids were like seagulls trying to lick the bowl and spoon. This is the only icing they want me to make now.
Thank you so much for the recipe.
