Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

A lovely cake! I have made it dairy free by using Nuttelex and icing it with the Sweet William Chocolate Spread.
This is so good. I actually needed to double the recipe again to put in one tin (yes it’s huge!) and cooked beautifully at 160 for about double the time.
OMG a yummy cake so simple. I made 2 cakes from the one batch and have frozen one. To top it off I also made the chocolate ganache. Perfect for chocolate lovers
Thank you, lovely recipe !
lisssellwood:thank you! My kids love it I make it for all their birthday cakes
zoebrambles:sorry you found you couldn’t fit it all in
Brodie11:
Hello I would freeze it.
Hi,
I am wanting to make this cake for a birthday on Monday. If I was to make the cake on Saturday what would be the best way to store it? In an air tight container in the fridge or just in an air tight container?
Any advice would be appreciated
stupid.....!
you cant even fit all the mixture in the bowl!
Just made this cake, waiting to take it out of the oven. If the taste of the batter is anything to go by though, it’s going to be delicious.
