Brownie batter

  • 150 g Butter
  • 275 g raw sugar
  • 75 g cocoa
  • 3 eggs
  • 75 g plain flour

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees.

     

    Mill sugar 6 sec / speed 9.

     

    Add butter and cocoa to bowl with sugar, and melt 5 mins / 60 degrees / speed 2, or until melted.

     

    Add eggs and vanilla, mix 10 sec / speed 4.

     

    Add flour, mix 10 sec / speed 4. Scrape down sides and mix a further 5 sec / speed 4.

     

    Pour into a 20cm square tin lines with baking paper.

     

    Bake 30-35 minutes or until centre is just set.

     

    Cool in tin, then cut into squares to serve.

    Very nice considering there is no chocolate
    I scaled back the sugar to 200gm, still very sweet maybe next time uses even less sugar

    These are delicious! I scaled back slightly on the sugar and cocoa as was making them for the kids. Will definitely be making again!

    I have made this recipe several times. So easy! Easily made lactose and gluten free and still amazing! Love it with chocolate chips or iced with butter frosting to jazz it up at a party.

    AJH85: I googled the original recipe and it's 1 tsp of vanilla essence

    So yummy. I googled the Donna Hay recipe to find out how much vanilla to add, it's 1 tsp. At the step after you add flour and do the final mix I added 100g dark choc chips. I can see this becoming a regular.
