I'm cooking this today

Recipe's preparation

    Dulce de Leche
  1. Add everything to the Bowl, set to 45 minutes, Varoma, speed 5 (MUST BE SPEED 5). Put the varoma dish on the top instead of the measuring cup, take the tray and lid off to allow maximum steam to evaporate. When it is cooked, pour it immediately into a sterile jar as it sets quickly as it cools. Store in the fridge.

Tip

This is soooo good. Usually has cream but I didn't have any so thought I would try it anyway and it worked great.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

i used norco milk cooked 45 mins and turned out way to thick and hardly made any. To fix it i Added a cup of milk cooked another 3-5 mins and it was fixed. Would just reduce cooking time next time. I might also add a little more sugar, i own a cake business so am going to use this for cakes, brownies, cheesecakes etc. Will save me running to the shop every time i run out of condensed milk or store bought dulce de leche.
    Cheap, easy and fantastic recipe.

Very easy recipe and so delicious!
Best to keep checking at the 35 to 45 minute mark to see if it is ready. Mine was ready at 40 minutes. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla essence.

I’ve never bought, tasted or made Dolce De Leche, so have tried this without knowing how it should actually turn out. Mine looks nothing like your picture but have read that the type/brand of milk can make a big difference to the final result.
Mine is very dark and jelly like. Might have to try again with perhaps a more creamy milk, even though I used a full cream milk.
I cleaned my bowl by adding milk and warming it up for a yummy hot caramel! 😁

I used 1 litre water with 140 g full cream milk powder instead of fresh milk. At the end, as it was a little thick I added about 1/4 cup milk and blended spd 5/ 5-10secs. Turned out amazing.

    A definite winner
