Ingredients

  • 100 g sultanas or dried mixed fruit
  • 60 g Cornflakes
  • 100 g slivered almonds
  • 100 g chopped glace cherries
  • 190 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 200 g Dark cooking chocolate

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat Oven to 170C. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper

  2. Combine all ingredients except chocolate into TM bowl. Mix 10sec/Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" / Speed 3 or until all combined

  3. Spoon tablespoons of mixture onto the tray and try to hold together slightly.

    Bake for 10mins or until golden. Set aside to cool

  4. Place chocolate in clean TM bowl and chop 8 sec/ sp 8. Scrape down sides of bowl.

    Melt chocolate for 4mins/ 50 C/ Sp 3.

    Dip or spread chocolate over the back of florentines and allow to set by placing biscuits face down

    I don't know why this recipe only has three stars. I make these all the time - and now I use ALL the recommended chocolate. SO beautiful!

    Perfect Florentines - easy to make!

    I made two lots and used about a quarter of the suggested amount of chocolate.

    This will be another regular for us - thanks so much for posting!

    Oh - and it was really easy using an egg ring ... I stuffed the egg ring with the Florentine mix and it lifted easily for each biscuit.  Have more recently used mini flan/tart pans in the oven and they work even better than egg rings.

    Lovely!

    Just made double the quantity so had to turn the speed up to 4 instead of 3 - big mistake. Will do two lots seperately next time. (Still tasted great though)
