Recipe's preparation

    Dry Ingredients
  1. Set oven to 180 degrees. Line a large baking tin approx 40x30cm
    .
  2. Place all dry ingredients (except sugar) in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and set aside
  3. Melted ingredients
  4. Place butter, dates and honey and sugar in Closed lid"Closed lid" . 5 minutes, 80 degrees, Gentle stir setting"Gentle stir setting" .
  5. Blitz ingredients, slowly getting up to speed 9 for approximatly 10 seconds.
  6. Pour melted mixture over dry ingredients, combine well so all ingredients are coated.
  7. Edit: I now use mini cake or slice silicon forms. Can be temperamental when cutting. The single serves pop out so easily.

Press into large lined baking tray (approx 20cm x 40cm).
Firm down well with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
  8. Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool in tin before slicing into bars or pieces.

Tip

***IMPORTANT***
Good quallity unprocessed honey is important, otherwise bars will be crumbly. it usually comes in a tub and is hard to spread on bread.

This is a double recipe keeps well

Great snack to take along on hikes and walks.

Great for lunch boxes or breaky on the run.

Lots of variations, some of the seeds can be replaced with dried fruits eg sultanas, cranberries, apricots.

Recently I have been using half/three quarters cup sugar.

    TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Great recipe, I halved the sugar and used 2 cups of muesli instead of rolled oats. Just about to make it again (by request) Smile
