Recipe's preparation

  1. Break banana into approximately four chunks, pit dates and put both fruits into TM bowl. Turn dial slowly until you reach speed 9 (or blend to whatever consistency you prefer).

  2. Add oats, water and milk.

  3. Cook on Counter-clockwise operation"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 3, 90 degrees for 9 minutes.

  4. Top with your choice of fruit or yoghurt and fruit.

Tip

I've found porridge gives us a great start to the day. It provides us with far more energy than cereal, and the children don't ask for a snack a couple of hours later (unlike other breakfasts).

You can use whatever fruit you like.

I often replace the banana with strawberries or add both. Sometimes I add chia seeds and/or desicated coconut.

It's the dates in this recipe that sweeten the oats.

You can play around with the liquid content to make the oats more or less runny.

My 3yr old and I loved this but my 1yr old was not so impressed. This makes a lot of porridge...it also could have fed my husband. Definitely sweet enough naturally  tmrc_emoticons.). Will make again. Thanks

Great recipe! Quick and easy to make. 2 out of my 3 kids loved it too topped with strawberries. Added Chia seeds as suggested. A great healthy breakfast, especially for school days!
